We had a wonderful chat with our host Women For Tri Specialist, Rebecca Kimble and featured guest, Women For Tri Brand Ambassador, Ayaka (Faith) Suzuki.
Topics included the journey into the sport of triathlon, overcoming barriers to entry, and increasing gender equity and equality in triathlon.
Currently based in Japan, Ayaka “Faith” Suzuki started triathlon five years ago in Singapore when her triathlon relay team fell apart on race day, and she wound up racing as an individual ‘team’. Starting from sprint distances and Olympic Distance races, she has completed four 70.3 races, qualified for 70.3 Worlds, and is currently training for IRONMAN Philippines. Faith is on her second year with the Women for Tri Ambassador Team and is a Wahoo Fitness (Japan) ambassador; she is affiliated with Triathlon in Tokyo.
